Christmas present

Not your typical manger scene but I like it.

The Christmas tree, has stood up for several years and doesn't lose it's needles but maybe I need more ornaments.

Christmas past

Why in the world am I dressed before all the other presents are opened? The outfit must have been a gift. Also, what was my mother thinking...those curtains with that wallpaper?

To my Dad

Dad, you told me recently that you wished you said I was beautiful more often. I wish I said I loved you more.

To my Dad 1/4/30 - 12/10/09

Everybody needs a Christmas Dog

When I was putting this together, my real dog was barking at it and tried to sniff his rear because I guess in a dogs world a lighted Jack Russell needs to know who is the number #1 dog around these parts.

Yep, very scary when lit.

Happy Thanksgiving

Baking the apple pie

Srsly, you didn't think that *I* actually made that pie from scratch did you?

Oh and Nutella put in the microwave and poured on top of the vanilla ice cream that's on top of the pie is absolutely delicious!!! Yum.

Reading

I like to read. I read probably on average one book a week, mostly paperbacks. I friend my favorite writers on facebook and twitter. When I go out I stick them in my purse in case I decide to stop at Panera Bread for lunch. Being in my purse the covers get torn and covered in other "stuff" that's in the bottom of my purse. I came across these:

There is one for "Trade" paperbacks which are larger and one for the "Mass Market" paperbacks.

I like them because they come with an attached bookmark. I am always losing my bookmark and having to hunt for something to mark the page. No more.

Currently I'm reading "Last Kiss" by Luanne Rice. What are you reading?

They've started....

....playing Christmas music on probably the only two radio stations I can clearly get on my clock radio or that don't play crap in the first place. By the time Christmas has come I'll have gone mad. Maybe I should ask Santa for an internet radio.

Dad

Why is it when we get older we become as helpless as when we were children? My dad is in the hospital right now suffering dementia. It's not known at the moment whether this was brought on by a recent increase in medication for Parkinson's or it was due to a very high level of calcium in his blood or if it is just the aging process but whatever the cause it's sad to see. Here is a picture of my Dad when he was about 3 and life was only looking up.

Congrats to Charleston, SC

Boeing announced last Wednesday that they will be locating a second assembly line for the 787 Dreamliner in Charleston, SC. This is good news for Charleston and South Carolina in general. With GE and Michelin already in the upstate this could mean more suppliers locating to South Carolina.

Beauty & Ugliness

The most awesome airport. Palm Springs, California

Now tell me, is this not the ugliest thing one can do to the beauty of these mountains? When Ted Kennedy was alive he was all gung ho about wind power, so long as it wasn't in HIS backyard. Why? Because they're ugly. They destroy the beauty of nature.

Decorating for the Holidays

Some people just put out a few pumpkins, maybe a flag and a witch while others go all out.

The owner of the house actually went to a plane junkyard and bought a wrecked plane. I don't know where he's keeping it after Halloween.
