Saying Goodbye to Paris

Our seats on the train back from Bayeux. Started off comfy but soon the train filled up to almost capacity. Next time, avoid the local ;-)

Early the next morning we said our goodbyes to our hotel

We arrived very early for our flight because someone (not saying who but he visits here and I read his blog of the same trip) who advised that four hours ahead was appropriate due to the long wait at the ticket counter.

It's certainly a good thing that these were available right near our gate. What a fabulous idea. There were more below us via a stairwell just to the left and in front of the windows.

Shopping

Harrods Kennsington. Princess Diana frequented Harrods.

They have an amazing display of various food/wine and flowers for sale along with the traditional department store fare of clothing. No this isn't Walmart.

Gorgeous chandeliers

A large bronze statue of Dodi Al-Fayed and Diana and some bird honor the couple.

Golden

The Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. It was much foggier earlier in the day, but slowly the fog lifted and the bridge came into view.

On it's way

Well my birth certificate debacle is *hopefully* about to be over as it is being flown to it's destination. Such drama and I haven't even left the country yet.

Makes me want to SCREAM!!!!!

Yeah, so this is not my picture but it is all over the internet and the first thing one thinks of when you think of screaming, and today I do. I've been waiting for my passport and today I get an envelope from the USGovernment and I think oooh boy it's come...Nope, not that lucky. Seems my birth certificate, that I've had forever and ever, is not sufficient because it didn't contain the date it was recorded. Well duh!, it most likely was recorded either the day I was born or the very next business day. I wasn't born in a tree and since the birth certificate had my DOB and was embossed with that lovely seal you'd have thunk it'd be ok ... now hopefully my 80 year old mother will get things right and get the "official" one from the town I was born in off to the desk of someone who'll process this straight away...if not, they'll be hearing from me every day until they do... Tough being 900 miles from where you were born.
The government also needs to make more agencies available around the country. What's wrong with having one for every state at the very least. I mean look at this map http://travel.state.gov/passport/passport_4312.html. There is like nothing for the majority of the country and what's with the Northeast having 4??? Even Texas has 2!

Cranberries

Yes, this is a "cranberry bog" in the middle of Hollywood. It was very weird seeing as most of the people had no idea this was supposed to be a bog. They probably didn't even know it was a bog. Ocean Spray was introducing their (at the time) new product cranraisens. We got lots of free samples of both the cranraisens and the juice.

Jason Mraz

Now you ask, what does Jason Mraz have to do with this picture. Well you see, the other day I saw a picture of Mraz in concert with his tongue hanging out and see, this giraffe has his tongue hanging out. Ok, so my mind draws strange connections.
