I'd Rather
Remodel
a bathroom
Throw myself into the ocean
Jump out of an airplane
Spend the day at a Quarry
Than fight the crowds during Black Friday!

Reading
I like to read. I read probably on average one book a week, mostly paperbacks. I friend my favorite writers on facebook and twitter. When I go out I stick them in my purse in case I decide to stop at Panera Bread for lunch. Being in my purse the covers get torn and covered in other "stuff" that's in the bottom of my purse. I came across these:
There is one for "Trade" paperbacks which are larger and one for the "Mass Market" paperbacks.
I like them because they come with an attached bookmark. I am always losing my bookmark and having to hunt for something to mark the page. No more.

Currently I'm reading "Last Kiss" by Luanne Rice. What are you reading?

Dad
Why is it when we get older we become as helpless as when we were children? My dad is in the hospital right now suffering dementia. It's not known at the moment whether this was brought on by a recent increase in medication for Parkinson's or it was due to a very high level of calcium in his blood or if it is just the aging process but whatever the cause it's sad to see. Here is a picture of my Dad when he was about 3 and life was only looking up.

Congrats to Charleston, SC
Boeing announced last Wednesday that they will be locating a second assembly line for the 787 Dreamliner in Charleston, SC. This is good news for Charleston and South Carolina in general. With GE and Michelin already in the upstate this could mean more suppliers locating to South Carolina.
